Joseph Bathanti and Flutist Akal Dev Sharonne will present a program entitled “Readings, Flutings and Musings” on Saturday, November 2 at 3 p.m. Ms. Sharonne will improvise flute music to accompany Mr. Bathanti’s readings, and will also play composed music. They also will share reminiscences about their time together in the NC Visiting Artist Program. A reception will follow this hour-long performance.

Joseph Bathanti will read his work and engage in a question and answer session at The Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum, a state historic site in Sedalia. The free, family-friendly event is open to the public and will take place at Kimball Hall, the historic dining hall associated with the Palmer Memorial Institute, an African American School open from 1902-1971.
